Smallmouth stacking up on gravel shoals

Flows dropped into a good wade-and-paddle range this week and smallmouth are keying on crawfish-pattern jigs worked slow through the shoals below the bluff pools. Early mornings have been best before the current picks up traffic.

Deep bluff walls holding suspended bass

With surface temps up, bass have pushed to 18–25 feet along the main-lake bluff walls. Drop-shotting and blade baits worked vertically have been out-fishing anything thrown shallow.

Crappie holding tight to brush in 12–15 ft

Hudson's brush piles are loaded right now. Minnows under a slip cork or small tubes vertically jigged through the brush have produced steady limits on recent trips.
